EJU Article – Olympic Champion Alina Dumitru took her sixth European title on day one of the European Championships. Dumitru defeated Eva Csernoviczky (HUN) by ippon in the last minute of the fight. For the Hungarian it was her second loss in two years, last year Frederique Jossinet (FRA) took the title.
They know eachother really well, Dumitru won her ninth match to Csernoviczky in major events, Csernoviczky however beat Dumitru just once, at last year’s Europeans in Tbilisi.
Oiana Blanco (ESP) and Charline van Snick (BEL) both took the bronze. European U20 Champion Van Snick defeated Lyudmila Bogdanova with a beautiful ippon after just a minute for bronze.
